That is correct! After a Friday that was near 60 degrees... It snowed! We got a light dusting on Saturday and Sunday. I was impressed that it stuck to the ground. But it was rather cold and windy, so I spent most of the day inside working on Origami and a few odds and ends.
But then Monday morning.... BOOM! The Old Man Winter dropped the hammer on Kenosha with about 8 inches of snow. ( Check out the grill!)
At first, I did not think it was that deep. But then I pushed the outer door open.

It was not the light fluffy stuff, but rather the heavy wet stuff that forms slush and will pack up under your car and get you stuck. It also melts together and forms that slippery slushy road that makes it easy to slip. A challenger to anyone getting out of an un-shoveled driveway.
Unless you drive a Subaru!
Subies love the snow! ( I might have mentioned that once or twice before...) And yes... so does a Jeep... But I got into all kinds of trouble with my Jeep... back in the day. Perhaps I am a little wiser now and avoid the crazy things I did in my youth; because I have not had the same trouble with any of my Subarus That being said... I still like to prove that the AWD system on a Subie rocks!
Monday was actually pretty cold, but one of the best things about being cooped up in the winter is that you can enjoy some warm comfort food and a hot Chocolate. I started up a big batch of chili last night and had it for lunch at work today. It was "Pretty good!" (My way of saying it was awesome...) I rarely make or eat chili unless the outdoor temps suggests that a bowl of warm goodness is required to weather out the storm. And I think chili and stew do that fairly well.
The snow is not bound to last. it is already melting. And the temps are predicted to rise into the 50's later. So if you planned on building a snowman, chances are, Monday would have been the day
In other parts of the country... Cheryl sent me a VERY rare phenomenon. Northern Lights in Iowa!
And not the common greens and whites. This one had a bold splash of red! How crazy is that?!?
All alone... In the cold dark. With the rainbow of colors swirling and dancing in the sky. It was one of those moments where you wished you had someone to share the experience.
But moments like that come and go. And there will be other moments in the future. You just have to watch out for them. And take them in stride.
And try to make every second count.
